La saison régulière se compose de 34 journées. Chaque équipe affronte l’ensemble de ses adversaires à deux reprises : une fois à domicile et une fois à l’extérieur. Puisqu'il y a 17 équipes dans la série, l'une d'entre elles est donc bye chaque semaine. Trois points sont attribués pour une victoire, un point pour un match nul et aucun en cas de défaite. En cas d’égalité au classement, sont pris en compte le nombre de victoires, la différence de buts, puis le nombre de buts inscrits.

Un classement décisif pour le titre et la promotion

À l’issue de la saison régulière, le club classé premier est sacré champion de la Challenger Pro League. Il n’existe pas de classement spécifique pour les barrages de promotion, ceux-ci étant organisés sous forme d’élimination directe.
