Le Racing Genk gâche la belle soirée belge avec un piètre résultat

Victoires de Bruges, Gand et l'Union Saint-Gilloise (in extremis)... mais pas du Racing Genk, qui recevait Ferencvaros. Les Limbourgeois ont été cantonnés à un partage (0-0) face à un rival clair pour l'une des deux premières places du groupe. 

Au terme d'un match peu emballant, malgré le magnifique tifo des supporters genkois qui l'avait propulsé sur de bons rails, Genk et le champion de Hongrie se sont donc séparés dos-à-dos. Le Racing aura peut-être des regrets, Owusu ayant touché le poteau à la 81e. Mais Maarten Vandevoordt a également dû s'employer à plusieurs reprises...

Avec ce résultat, le Racing Genk, la Fiorentina et Ferencvaros restent invaincus dans leur poule et se tiennent dans un mouchoir de poche, tous trois à 5 points. Notons que Tolu Arokodare a été exclu dans les arrêts de jeu, et que Wouter Vrancken devra donc faire sans lui lors du prochain match européen.
